The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen has signed off with an end that's impressed fans the world-over. As one of the best shows to binge this past anime season, we wanted to pay tribute to the series by rehashing some of the absolute best moments from the series so far. Spoiler warning for those who haven't watched the first season yet, as we will cover some of our favorite scenes.
Our favourite Jujutsu Kaisen hype moments
- Gojo's eyes finally unveiled
Gojo Sensei showed off a variety of crazy techniques in his fight against the volcanic cursed spirit, Jogo - from the introduction of his domain expansion, Infinite Void, to his unreal techniques like Cursed Technique Reversal: Red.
Despite how glitzy and cool all of Gojo Sensei's techniques were, the thing that got fans most excited across all of the Jujutsu Kaisen hype moments was his eyes. For much of the earlier scenes, Gojo kept his eyes fully hidden, just like Kakashi did in Naruto. It wasn't really a question as to whether we would see his eyes or not at some point, but more just a matter of when. Unsurprisingly, that moment happened early on in the series.
- The relationship between Itadori and Todo
One of the most iconic moments from the Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event Arc was seeing Itadori and Todo not only hash it out in a friendly rivalry but also display their intense intelligence and strengths. The only thing that that topped that was seeing them fight next to each other as brothers during the curse's domination over the school.
The sorcerers went face-to-face with the cursed spirit, Hanami, in an impressive battle scene where we saw combinations that made the duo look like they had been best friends for years.
The fight between Todo and Itadori had some of the best animations and fight choreography in the show so far. It also served to develop both Todo's and Itadori's characters, and it proved the former wasn't simply a meathead, while the latter was able to improve exponentially with the right teaching. Only a couple of fighters with the skillset they demonstrated were capable of holding their own against a grade cursed spirit.
- The Chimera Shadow Garden
The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen comes to an exciting conclusion as Megumi and Itadori face off against a special cursed spirit identical to the one they fought in episode 4. In the original encounter with this type of cursed spirit, Megumi and Itadori were unable to defeat it without the aid of Sukuna.
However, both sorcerers had grown much stronger since then. While it was extremely satisfying to watch just how far Megumi has grown as a jujutsu sorcerer by seeing him defeat the spirit, it was more satisfying to see just how he did it. It was nice to see Chimera Shadow Garden being able to be used for the first time, and with his shikigamis - like Nue and Divine Dog: Totality - it's looking like it could be a lot of fun.Have you browsed our Jujutsu-Kaisen anime-inspired clothing yet?
